Shocking? Yes? Sexist? Yes. What's more surprising is the source of this quote - a school textbook for 14-year olds in India. That part's getting a lot of press, but the truth is less so. It turns out kids weren't being taught this as fact - it's part of a chapter written by an Indian satirist. The chapter also makes a comparison of donkey's skin to politicians.
