I had my doubts about the new Iron Man movie, especially when I heard Tom Cruise was attached. Well, Cruise is gone, replaced by Robert Downey Jr. And the trailer is out. And it's freakin' sweet.

Awesome! I've been afraid of this one since I first heard about it because ,simply put, Iron Man is my absolute favorite superhero ever. But it looks pretty good. I have my doubts about Stark because he was always very tortured and driven in the comics and Downey tends to play more towards humor, but if they can make it work, then they can make it work. The suits look nothing less than perfect.
I love the little "I...Am...Iron Maaaan!" at the end.
A lot to talk about with this trailer:
1) Moving the origin from Korean War to Iraq seems obvious and genius. Very topical.
2) Tony Stark seems like more of a jerk, less a humanitarian than he was in the comics. Makes it more ironic.
3) The "Iron Man" song was also an obvious choice for the trailer, and also genius. I always thought of Iron Man when I heard that song.
4) I hope they keep the idea of him needing the chestplate to keep his heart running. I always liked that aspect of his character.
